Time for Change

For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

There are days and weeks when I get stuck in a trap.  The trap I'm talking about is called the mundane day to day living, that gets in the way of our everyday life.  Stay with me here.  The everyday, get up, change the diapers, nurse the baby, make breakfast, get the kids ready, oh man, the kids are fighting AGAIN,  the everyday routine.  Which hey, routine is definitely a necessary part of life, I'm not knocking it, I actually function better within it.  It's just that sometimes, our lives, rather, our minds get put on auto-pilot, or cruise control.  This can happen especially in our relationships, not only with our kids, but with our spouses or significant others.  What about those people that you run into on a daily basis?  Are they on auto-pilot too?  Wow, I'm starting to feel like I'm writing a script for the Matrix.

!!!!ITS TIME TO WAKE UP!!!

When our minds get lost in la la land of the everyday, bleh, our emotions tend to stay there too. Everyone we come into contact with becomes a distraction, or sometimes an annoyance and pulls us away from our routine.

Instead of getting frustrated with the way things are going, turn it around, and begin to look at each situation as an opportunity.

-What can I do to brighten someone's day right here, right now?  How can I pay it forward?  When I get stuck in a line at the grocery store, is there someone I could be praying for to past the time?  (Maybe the person ahead of you, or behind you, or maybe even the cashier?)

Father,
I ask you Lord, to awaken us.  Awaken us from the everyday grind and open our eyes to see those in need, all around us, Lord. Help us to be an ever-glowing light for you glory Lord. Help us to be aware of what is going on around us in our relationships, in our workplace, and in our homes.  Thank you for all of your provision Lord. In your name we pray, Amen.
